Dentalk

An AI scribe that documents the consult while the clinician works.

A proof-of-concept clinical documentation tool for a dental practice - it listens during the consult, extracts what matters into the right fields, and hands it back for the clinician's sign-off. No typing.

An AI scribe that documents the consult while the clinician works.

The brief

A dental practice came to us with a frustration every clinician knows: the documentation. Notes get typed up between patients, or worse, after hours - and every minute spent on a keyboard is a minute not spent with the patient in the chair.

The question was a proof of concept: could we build something that listens while you work, captures everything clinically relevant, and hands it back ready to sign off - with no typing, no installs, and no compromise on compliance?

What we did

We built a working web app around one promise - documentation that gets out of the way.

  • Browser-native recording - click record and talk like you always do. No app, no plugin, no hardware to install.
  • Context, not keywords - the AI understands the consult, mapping chief complaint, medical history, allergies and anxiety to the right fields automatically (and flagging things like a penicillin allergy).
  • Live progress mid-consult - a real-time view of which fields are captured, so the clinician knows exactly what to ask before the patient leaves.
  • Review & approve - nothing is finalised without a human. The AI suggests; the clinician decides and signs off.
  • Compliance from day one - encrypted sessions, consent-first recording, organisation-level isolation, UK data residency, and a full audit trail.

The clinician's dashboard

The result is a proof of concept that turned a genuine clinical chore into a click - and gave the practice their evenings back.
