Love the Oceans
A digital home for Mozambique's marine conservation movement.
A website for the Inhambane-based marine conservation non-profit and Mission Blue Hope Spot - built to grow community, drive donations, and amplify a decade of science.
The brief
Love the Oceans is a marine conservation non-profit working in Inhambane, Mozambique - and an official Mission Blue Hope Spot. After more than a decade of fieldwork, a renewed Hope Spot designation, and a community-led push for a Marine Protected Area, their digital presence no longer matched the scale of the mission.
They needed a website that could carry the weight of the science and move people to act - to volunteer, to donate, and to back the campaign for protected waters.

What we did
We built the site around a simple principle: lead with the people and the place, then make it effortless to get involved.
- Story-first structure - a “Conservation Through Connection” narrative carrying their vision, mission and values, instead of burying the work in jargon.
- Proof, up front - impact stats and a Dr. Sylvia Earle endorsement establishing credibility in the first scroll.
- Clear paths to act - low-friction routes to donate, volunteer and join the movement woven throughout.
- A calm, oceanic system - type, colour and imagery that feel like the water they’re protecting, and that the team can update themselves.

The result is a digital home that finally does justice to the work happening on the ground - and turns visitors into part of the movement.
